Music Organization

2Stix Music is a non-profit organization

We are a pilot program of black owned and operated community land trust inc

Why 2stixMusic?

Not only will our students learn to play an instrument, but they will also learn to make their own music. We have coined “Making Music Matters” because studies show that it is only through the active generation and manipulation of sound that music can rewire the brain.

Vision

At 2Stix Music, we believe that every child should have access to high quality music education taught by qualified, caring and well-trained music teachers. Our vision is to encourage broader lives through learning to play music.

Mission

Our mission is to provide quality music education for students at low to no cost. Helping to promote academic achievement for all of our students through focus, diligence and discipline in a positive environment.

Goals

2Stix Music is a place where children will be taught the values of commitment, work ethic and accountability. We set high standards and provide challenges that foster discipline and self esteem. We want to broaden the lives of our students through music and the exposure and opportunities that they will receive through music classes.

About 2stixMusic

All of our students at 2Stix Music will learn to play an instrument through dedication and hard work; whether that instrument will be a life skill or just a fun hobby. At 2Stix Music, we want to develop minds and build character through music

2stix founder and Celebrity Drummer and Music Director Rick Jordan decided to start the 2Stix initiative after reading about low academic performance in his native Atlanta Georgia school system. He remembered not being motivated in school and not having the support needed to excel, and that compelled him to take action. He knows first-hand that music can change a child’s life and that adding music education to their academic journey can greatly improve his or her attention span and confidence in the classroom. Learning to play an instrument will also support children in other academic areas such as math, science and reading. “I believe that music brings out the best in children of all cultures” says Mr. Jordan, who has been playing drums since he was two years old. He believes that joining the school music program helped shape his musical journey.

As a concept, music helps to build children. In a practical sense, music allows children to build themselves.
